Burning Rock ATV park opens near Beckley!

The Burning Rock Off-Road Park, near Beckley, WV, includes more than 100 miles of open mountain trails designed for the use of all-terrain vehicles -- ATVs, UTVs, and dirt bikes.

About Burning Rock

Opened July 4, 2008, the Burning Rock Off-Road Park has been designed to include more than 100 miles of ATV, UTV, and dirt-bike trails in the mountainous western region of southern West Virginia -- the region long-known as the Winding Gulf Coalfield.

Less than a mile off the McKinney Mountain exit of the Coalfield Expressway (W.Va. 16), the Burning Rock trail-head station includes on-site parking, a permit and registration station, a souvenir sales shop, restrooms, gas pumps, and an ATV power washer.

Membership in the Burning Springs ATV Club, according to the park's Web site, as of July 2008, provides enthusiasts opportunity to participate in development and operation, and members receive a discounted trail-pass and are enrolled in an ATV-rewards program.

Trail permits are available the General Store at the trail-head. The store is open 7 a.m. to 5 p.m. daily, according to the site, while the trail system is open daily from sunrise until sunset. Permits are also available through he site at www.burningrockwv.com.
