Four West Virginia ski resorts offer downhill skiing.

Snowshoe : 57 slopes and trails and 1,500' vertical drop - more than any other ski resort in the Southeast.

Winterplace: West Virginia's most accessible ski resort, with easy access from Interstate-77; 27 slopes and trails and 603' vertical drop.

Timberline: Cool temperatures, long winters, and abundant natural snowfall; 35 slopes and trails, 1000' vertical drop.

Canaan Valley: Breathtaking scenery and fantastic snowfalls; 34 slopes and trails, 850' vertical drop.

Snowboarding and terrain parks may likewise be found at each of West Virginia's primary ski areas, and some are among the most fantastic in the U.S.

Snowshoe: Two terrain parks offer snowboarders and freeskiers everything from a 300-foot halfpipe to monster table tops, rails and other features.

Winterplace: Snowboard park open 7 days a week, with rentals and lessons available.

Blackwater Ski Touring Center - Pristine alpine scenery, on 15 km of trails, located within Blackwater Falls State Park.

White Grass Touring Center - 50 km maintained and 25 km machine groomed, near Monongahela National Forest and Canaan Valley.

Elk River Touring Center - 40 km maintained & 5 km machine groomed with access to Monongahela National Forest and Cranberry Glades Wilderness Area.

Snow Tubing Parks

Snow tubing parks may be found at each of West Virginia's primary ski areas, and all are among the best in the East.

Winterplace
: Largest snowtubing park in West Virginia with 16 lanes and 5 lifts.

Snowshoe: The Ruckus Ridge Adventure Park at Silver Creek features six lanes and a 600-foot tubing hill.
